Urgently needed care describes treatment for a sudden illness or injury that isn’t a medical emergency but that must be provided immediately.1

Does Medicare cover urgent care?

Yes, Medicare covers urgent care. If you have Original Medicare, urgent care is covered under Medicare Part B.1 If you have a Medicare Advantage plan, the out-of-pocket costs for urgent care will depend on your plan. But Medicare Advantage plans will cover urgent care even if the urgent care facility isn’t in the plan’s network.2
