Jenny Chumbley Hogue brings over 30 years of health industry experience to her role as a contributor for medicareresources.org.

In 2002, Jennifer started her own health insurance agency, KG Health Insurance. Her specialties include Medicare, small-group insurance and the individual health insurance market. She takes great pride in not only understanding the details and laws regarding Medicare and individual-market health Insurance, but more importantly, being able to explain to regulations to consumers in a way that is easy to understand.

Jennifer’s started her career as a pharmacy technician in high school and worked through college at Eckerd’s Pharmacy. She then worked in the first mail-order pharmacy on the West Coast with Pacficare Health Systems/Secure Horizons, now part of United Healthcare. She later worked for eight years for what is now the largest Prescription Benefit Manager, specifically managing implementations for some of the biggest carriers in the country.

After leaving the PBM world, she went to work for a Big Five carrier for three years. Because of the span of her career, she remembers the first PCS pharmacy cards, how paper claims were processed, and knows why primary care doctors can only be changed once a month.

A native of Long Beach, California, she now lives in Dallas, Texas with her husband and travels to Catalina Island as often as possible.
