We’ve devoted this site devoted to explaining the nuts and bolts of the health safety net known as Medicare, and our editorial team knows that Medicare enrollees – and Americans who expect to become enrollees – spend a good deal of time seeking authoritative answers to questions about the national program.

The good news is that there’s an awful lot of free information out there about Medicare – on the web, through 800 numbers, and from individuals who offer answers and advice in person. A first step might be to ask a friend or family for recommendations, but who do enrollees trust for authoritative, easy-to-understand answers?

Who do you trust?

In this week’s edition of Medicare Survey, we’re hoping to get a clearer sense of the sources of information our readers most trust. Do you go straight to the source – contacting a CMS representative? Do you rely on State Health Insurance Assistance Programs (SHIP), or do you turn to Medicare insurance companies? Do you rely on online Medicare guides like ours?

We hope you’ll take 30 seconds to weigh in. Your responses will help shape this site’s content and better serve our readers as they navigate the Medicare program.
